In the 1980s, we worked on numbers of Japanese government ODA projects, including the "hospital attached to the University of Peradenia" and the "Mahaberi Irrigation Project."
Although activities in Sri Lanka had once temporarily been suspended, business activities have resumed since the end of the civil war in 2009, and since 2015, we have formed a JV with local companies to implement the ADB financed Colombo Northern No-Shedding Water Reduction Project. In addition, since 2017, we have implemented the Kerani River New Bridge Construction Project, an ODA yen loan.
Sri Lanka is located at a geopolitically important position in the Indian Ocean, and its economic development has been remarkable since the end of the civil war. Here we intend to contribute to the development in the future not only in the social infrastructure development projects we are currently undertaking, but also in the support for the expansion of Japanese companies and the spread of renewable energy.
